Information Stored Locally on Your Device:

  • User Preferences: Language settings, display position, duration settings, and feature toggles
  • Usage Statistics: Number of phrases displayed (today and total), trigger counts (loading, offline, manual), streaks, and language usage
  • Cached Phrases: Islamic remembrance phrases downloaded from our server for offline access
  • Version Information: Extension version and last update check timestamp
  • Authentication Data (Optional): If you choose to create an account, we store your authentication token and user information (name, email) locally in Chrome's sync storage

Information Sent to Our Servers (Optional - Only When Logged In):

  • Account Information: When you register or login, your email address, name, and password (hashed) are sent to our authentication server
  • Usage Statistics: If you are logged in, your phrase display statistics may be sent to our server to enable leaderboard features and sync across devices

Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we do NOT collect:

  • Browsing history or websites visited
  • User activity (clicks, keystrokes, mouse movements)
  • Website content
  • Location data
  • Financial or payment information
  • Health information
  • Personal communications
  • Passwords in plain text (passwords are hashed before storage)

Note: If you choose to create an account, we collect your name and email address for account management purposes only. Account creation is completely optional.

How We Use Your Information

The locally stored information is used solely to:

  • Display Islamic remembrance phrases according to your preferences
  • Remember your language and display settings
  • Provide offline access to cached phrases
  • Show usage statistics in the extension popup and settings
  • Check for extension updates
  • Authenticate your account when you choose to log in

If you are logged in, your information may also be used to:

  • Sync your statistics across devices

Data Storage

User data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage APIs (chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync).

  • Local Storage: Cached phrases, statistics, and version info
  • Sync Storage: User preferences, authentication tokens, and user account information (synced across your Chrome browsers if signed in to Chrome)

Server Storage: If you create an account, your account information (email, name, hashed password) and usage statistics are stored on our secure servers. This data is used to authenticate your account and enable features like leaderboards and cross-device synchronization.

Network Requests

Our extension makes network requests to the following endpoints:

These requests are used to:

  • Fetch and sync Islamic remembrance phrases (no authentication required)
  • Check for extension updates and new phrase versions (no authentication required)
  • Authenticate user accounts (login/register) - sends email and password
  • Record usage statistics to the server (only when logged in, includes authentication token)
  • Fetch leaderboard data (requires authentication token)

Public Requests: Requests for phrases and updates do not include personal or identifying information.

Authenticated Requests: When you are logged in, requests to record statistics or fetch leaderboards include your authentication token. Your email and password are only sent during login/registration, and passwords are hashed before transmission.

Third-Party Services

We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. We do not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties.

Permissions Used

Our extension requires the following permissions:

  • storage: To save your preferences and cache phrases locally
  • alarms: To schedule daily phrase sync and version checks
  • webNavigation: To detect page loading and display phrases
  • scripting: To inject the phrase display overlay into web pages
  • host_permissions (all_urls): To display phrases on any website you visit

Data Retention

Data is stored locally on your device until you:

  • Clear the extension's cache through the settings
  • Uninstall the extension
  • Clear Chrome's extension data

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: View your statistics and settings in the extension options page
  • Modify: Change any settings at any time
  • Delete: Reset statistics or clear cache from the settings page. You can also log out to stop sending statistics to our servers
  • Portability: Settings sync across Chrome browsers when signed in to Chrome
  • Account Management: You can create, login, or logout from your account at any time through the extension options page
  • Opt-Out: You can use the extension without creating an account. All features work locally without authentication

Children's Privacy

Our extension is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children or any users.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

The following changes were made in this version:

  • Statistics API Integration: When logged in, usage statistics are optionally sent to our servers to enable leaderboard features
  • Leaderboard Feature: Added leaderboard functionality that displays top users (requires authentication)
  • Enhanced Statistics: Added streak tracking, longest streak, and total days used features
  • Improved Data Privacy: All authentication features are optional - the extension works fully without requiring an account

Important: Account creation is completely optional. All core features of the extension work without authentication. Statistics are only sent to our servers if you choose to log in. You can use the extension entirely offline and locally if you prefer.
